Biography
Since joining the PSA Squash Tour in 2013, Wales’ Joel Makin has steadily climbed up the PSA rankings through consistent performances, accumulating a number of high-profile PSA titles and recently climbing to a career-high rank of World No.4.
Of late, the Welshman has put himself in the picture for major titles, winning his first major at the 2024/25 PSA Squash Tour Finals, and reaching the semi-finals of several other flagship events such as the British Open, Hong Kong Open and Qatar Classic.
A three-time British National champion and a Silver medallist in the singles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Makin is regarded as one of the fittest players in squash and his physicality makes him one of the toughest opponents on tour.
